  • Hung King Temple Festival is a traditional festival which honors the first King of Vietnam – Hung King. It’s occasion for every Vietnamese to remember their origin and express their respect as well as gratitude to ancestor of Vietnamese people. Therefore, it’s considered as national festival of Vietnam. Every year on 10 March, a large number of visitors from all over the country participate a national festival - Hung King Temple Festival - an incense offering ceremony in honor of Hung Kings, who were instrumental in the founding of the nation.

     
  • Lunar New Year Festival - the occasion that marks the beginning of a new year in lunar calendar, is also called "Tet" or "Tet Nguyen Dan" in Vietnamese. This is the most important festival in Vietnam which usually takes place annually around late January or early February. Traditionally, the purpose of Tet holiday is that Vietnamese would like to thank Gods for the arrival of spring with a variety of blooming trees and flowers after a cold and harsh winter. Also, this is the privileged occasion for family’s members to reunite, celebrating a new year which has come together, and saying farewell to the previous one.
     
  • Besides the Tet Holiday, the Mid-Autumn festival is one of the most famous festivals and it is a traditional celebration for Vietnamese children. The Mid-Autumn festival dates back to the Rice Civilization of the Red River delta, over 4,000 years ago. It is fantastic and charming with its history. It is held on the 15th day on the 8th lunar month (often in late September or early October) in the middle of autumn and it is celebrated for a whole day. On this day, the adults and the parents prepare many different foods - Moon cakes, candies, biscuits, jellies, and fruit, such as grapefruit, longan fruit, bananas, apples, mango, etc. All of them are designed with fun symbols, for example: dog, cat, mouse …
  • Vu Lan Festival is Buddhist festival that emerged long ago in Vietnam. Every year, the festival takes place on 15th day of the seventh lunar month, celebrates the seventh full moon in the year. In Vietnamese, it is so-called "Xa Toi Vong Nhan" festival because this is the day for the death's souls. In the thought of Vietnamese as well as people in many other countries sharing the same festival, on that day, gate of the hell opens and thus, souls of the dead can come back to their home and gather with family. Vietnamese considers that it’s occasion for family gathering as well as expressing love and gratitude to ancestor and parents. This is reason Vu Lan Festival is known as Mother’s day in Vietnam.
  • Huong Pagoda complex is considered as one among centers of Buddhism in Vietnam. Huong Pagoda Festival held annually and lasts three months, from the 6th day of Lunar New Year to the 6th day of the third lunar month in the year. But, the official days of the festival is only from 15th to 20th day of the second lunar month. Huong Pagoda Festival is very different from other traditional festivals in Vietnam that recreational activities aren’t central part of the festival. Each year, thousands visitors from all regions in the country and foreign tourists as well go to Huong Pagoda at the time of festival. However, their aim is to visit scenic setting of Huong Pagoda and pray for themselves and their family.
  • Danang International Fireworks Competition is an annual international fireworks competition hosted by Danang City. The first Danang International Fireworks Competition was held in 2008. Every year, the competition usually takes place at the end of April with the participation of three or fourth international competitors and the host - Danang City. Each year, firework displays teams will perform in different theme for two nights. Coming Danang on the occasion of international fireworks competition, visitors will experience a colorful party of firework performances on Han River, Danang City.
     
  • Halong Carnival is the biggest annual festival in Halong which attracts a huge number of tourists each year. The festival is joined by thousands of actors (actresses), dancers, singers, musicians as well as students. Almost of them are the local residents of Halong Bay. Each year, Halong Carnival has a different theme which honors traditional and natural values of Halong Bay as well as the achievements of tourism in Halong. Joining the festival, tourists will have chance to dip in magical music background of a great musical party. The highlight of Halong Carnival is joyous street parades with variety of colorful costumes and dance on wide streets along the coast.
     
  • Hue Festival is a big cultural event of Hue city that is held every two years (usually in April, May or June). Hue Festival has become a space of cultural exchange between peoples all over the world. During the festival, there are variety of cultural events taking place such as Hue Poetry Festival, Massive Street Arts Performances, the Dialogue of drums and percussion instruments, Art Exhibitions, the Week of Vietnam’s historical films.
  • Nha Trang Sea Festival takes place every two years for a week in around June in Nha Trang City. This is a colorful and dynamic sea festival which honors natural beauty of Nha Trang - the charming city overlooking the sea. The first Nha Trang Sea Festival was held in 2003 when Nha Trang Beach was proclaimed as a member of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club. At the time of festival, visitors will be in a bustling and exciting ambiance of various cultural and recreational events.
